Jumpshare Review : Drag, Drop and Share files with ease

Jumpshare.com is an online file sharing tool that lets you store data and share it with anyone you like. The easy interface allows users, even those with pretty much no technical know-how, to easily 'drag and drop' their files that they want to share.

The unique feature about Jumpshare is that you don't have to create an account to get started. The homepage is clean and simple to understand and all you have to do is start dragging the files for sharing.

File Sharing

Each file that you upload will stay online for a maximum of two weeks, and you can easily share the public link to anyone among your circle that you want the file to shared with.

Idea and Concept

The founders of Jumpshare in an interview mentioned that they built this tool to enable everyone to share files online and not have them stored on their own computers. The concept behind it is to basically make everyone's life easier by sharing files and folders online.

Advantages of using Jumpshare

Such a tool can have amazing benefit if used properly. For example, it can be a great productivity tool in business situations when multiple number of people want access to a single file. It can also be very helpful for young students who need to get their assignments and term projects organized.

Currently, Jumpshare.com allows new users to upload a maximum of 100 mega bytes of data at a time, but that will probably be extended as new users start coming in and the tool gets noticed online.

iPhone 5 Launch : 4 New Confirmed Features

The iPhone 5 is almost here. Today (September 12, 2012) is the day the world rests its eyes on the Apple's brand new iPhone. Many are expecting huge changes, while some are predicting minor updates. One thing is for sure, Apple has shifted it's philosophy from being a revolutionary technological company to a more evolutionary kind of an organization.

So far, we are sure of 4 new features that will be on the new iPhone 5 smartphone. Here is a quick rundown of what the fans will get:

A much larger screen

All previous iPhone devices from Apple have featured a 3.5 inch screen and it hasn't been much of a problem for users, with many enjoying it's consistent experience throughout the major iPhone versions particularly with the use of apps.

But that changed with the introduction of screens up to 4 inches like Samsung's Galaxy S III, which really put the pressure on Apple to respond. And responded they have, users will have a much larger screen with the iPhone 5, with some predicting it will at least 4 inches if not more.

LTE Network and Connectivity

4G is now a must have, with many network carriers rolling it out across their markets and are supporting LTE technology to benefit from smartphones with wireless capability. Apple had to upgrade from it's cellular radios to this if it needed to stay with the every changing environment.

LTE Connectivity is to be included in the iPhone 5 for certain.

YouTube's own iPhone app

YouTube now have their very own iPhone app, and will be taking over the one created by Apple. This story was covered here yesterday, and so we can be sure that the iPhone 5 will have the YouTube's version of the app. This of course will considerably improve the user experience while surfing for videos on YouTube.

Integration of NFC (Near Field Communication) Chips

Almost all of the latest Android phones have the facility of NFC chips and allow users to use their phones as wallets for purchasing products. Apple is naturally looking in to entering the mobile money market as well, especially when it has it's own iTunes store to benefit from.

So what do you think of these 4 features? There are surely many more that we will be seeing today at the launch. Which feature are you most looking forward to?

YouTube releases its very own iPhone App!

YouTube has launched its much anticipated iPhone app which is available for download (for free) at the iPhone app store.

iPhone devices previously had support for YouTube videos, using it's very in-built version, which was made purely by Apple and had nothing to do with YouTube. That feature was good enough just to run videos and was mostly disliked by users because of speed issues and difficulty in video streaming. That eventually led  to Apple stopping their service and opened up the possiblity for YouTube (Google) to create its own dedicated app.

And now with the introduction of YouTube's own app, these problems should be laid to rest once and for all. The new app boasts a much improved layout and a much faster response to allow users to browse and view videos.

The new app is also good news because the iPhone 5 launch is just around the corner, and will fit in perfectly with Apple's objective to give users the maximum benefit with its array of new apps and features.

What do you think? Will the introduction of YouTube's own app on the iPhone make the user experience better?  Are you looking forward to it in the new iPhone 5?

Violent video games can help to relieve pain - Study

Violent video games good for health

Video games, and particularly the violent ones can help reduce anxiety and tension from the player's minds and help them relieve mental pain.

This was concluded at the end of a very detailed study on gaming and its potential effects on the human physiological patterns. Games like Gears of Wars, Call of Duty, Battlefield etc, were tested among a group of volunteers and the results clearly showed that continuously playing these games for a certain period of time increased the player's tolerance to pain.

However, games with a more 'soft' touch were reported not to have the same effects of their violent counterparts. For example, adventure games like Quest for Glory, Myst, and Broken Sword actually increased the player's skill of intuition rather than helping them reduce anxiety, pain or tension.

So why was this study conducted in the first place? The reason was to see if there was any correlation with playing video games while using swearing words. And eventually that led to the above mentioned theory being tested. Yes, its that simple.

iPhone 5 Features: What we want to see!

The internet is buzzing with the anticipation of Apple's brand new iPhone launch, and everyone's talking about what iPhone 5 features to expect. Here is a rundown of what we would like to see on September 12th!

An improved Siri!

Siri has been very useful for people who like to give orders to a smartphone. However, there are many iPhone owners who just don't use this feature enough. Apple needs to reach out to these users with a considerable new improvement. One of the 'challenges' using the iPhone's voice assistant is to get it to understand what you mean. If Apple can sort that out (with maybe a more intelligent AI software), it would help bring these users in to the fold.

A larger screen would help!

We are not talking about a mammoth sized screen, just a bit of more space. A slightly larger screen will really help and kind of get back one at Samsung as well. The iPhone still has a ton of space left, which can be used to give users a much larger and clearer view.

An improved battery life!

With new improvements, and exciting new features, the battery life of the previous iPhone series have all pretty much remained stagnant. No major improvements were made to the resilience of the battery life. What we would want is a much better performing iPhone, which could at least last a full day at peak usage.

Finally, the introduction of 4G compatibility will really put the icing on the cake. That is something everyone's been waiting for and were rightly disappointed when it did not feature in the iPhone 4S.

So what feature are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below.

How Pac-Man got it's name

Pac-Man video game, Pacman name logo, how pacman createdThis is the tale of how this classic video game got it's name and what it almost ended up as being called! :)

Pac-Man, if you look at it from a very basic point of view is a game about eating. Yes, eating stuff. And that is what Pac-Man's creator, Toru Iwatani did, by putting the idea of a slice of pizza of missing and then eating the small dots while imagining a bunch of ghosts chasing you. Yeap, sounds pretty crazy. But look at how famous the game went on to be, and is still arguably the best classic game of all time.

Originally, the Japanese name of the game, 'Pakkuman', was taken from the Japanese onomatopoeia "Paku Paku", which represents the sound of eating, kind of what the word "chomp" in English relates to.

But, as the video game crawled its way on to the market, the name morphed into "Puck Man". However, the game's journey towards America, brought the risk of people ruining the name from "Puck Man" to 'You know what".

A decision was made and a name was finalized. The game was to be called as "Pac-Man", which we now know and love so much!.

iPhone 5 confirmed! - The date is September 12

It's never been this way, but Apple have confirmed the launch event date for it's brand new iPhone 5 series.

Invitations are starting to reach the most influential people in technology world, and the date is all set for 12 September, 2012. Many people still clearly remember the anti-climatic launch of the iPhone 4S this time last year. However, this time around, it definitely will be a brand new smartphone revealed to the world.

Interestingly, there are some rumors that the upcoming phone might not be called an iPhone 5 at all. (Remember iPad HD and the 'new iPad?). But rumors aside, we most probably will see a numbered series (iPhone 5) to continue the trend of smartphones by Apple.

New Features?

So what can we all expect from the iPhone 5. For starters, it will have a smaller dock connection, a much larger length screen (not to mention thin), and the feature of no NFC (near field communication), which will help customers to buy products and pay for them at stores.

Having said all that, we must all keep in mind that this is Apple we are talking about. It's past record when it comes to launch events and keeping things under wrap have been extremely questionable and who knows what might be in store for Apple fans on September 12.

Only time will tell!
